Without an official announcement from the French team, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang said goodbye to Marseille and its fans in an emotional video posted on his Instagram account. The post features a video of his best plays and a heartfelt message to the club and its supporters.
"I've had a year full of emotions and I would like to thank the whole club, the staff, my teammates, and our fans. You've made me stronger, and these memories with you will stay with me forever," the forward wrote.
"Auba" also thanked Frank McCourt, the club's owner, and Pablo Longoria, the sporting director, for their understanding and acceptance of his departure from the French team. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Gabonese player's next destination is likely to be Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia, a team reportedly willing to spend a significant amount of money on him.
