AS Monaco Wins and Sends Lyon to the Bottom of Ligue 1
Olympique Lyon suffered their second consecutive defeat at the start of Ligue 1, losing 2-0 to AS Monaco in the second matchday of the league, with goals from Ben Seghir and Lamine Camara.
The problems from last season have continued for Lyon, with a performance to forget in their home debut. Not only did they lose, but they also failed to register a single shot on target and had less than 40% possession.
On the other hand, AS Monaco continues their strong start to the season, securing their second straight win. Despite only having five shots on target, they capitalized on one from Eliesse Ben Seghir in the 65th minute, and Lamine Camara sealed the victory with a second goal in the 80th minute.
With this result, AS Monaco moves up to second place in the Ligue 1 standings with six points, tied with PSG. Meanwhile, Olympique Lyon sinks to the bottom of the table, sitting in the relegation zone with zero points and a negative goal difference of -5.
