VIDEO | Camp Nou's Stunning Transformation
FC Barcelona shared new images showcasing the progress of the new stadium with a before-and-after montage. Spectacular.
Barcelona surprised their fans by releasing new images showcasing the progress of the new Camp Nou.
They did so with a comparison between how the stadium looked before the renovations began and its current state. The difference is immense.
The renovations of Camp Nou started on June 1, 2023, forcing the team to play at the Olímpico Lluis Companys stadium throughout the past season. The extensive renovation project, which is part of the larger Espai Barça project, aims to modernize the stadium and improve its facilities, making it one of the most advanced sports venues in the world.
Barcelona is counting down the days until they can return home, which won't be until November this year, when the stadium will reopen with two-thirds of its capacity.
The initial reopening will include upgraded seating, improved accessibility, and enhanced fan experience features, such as new VIP areas and state-of-the-art technology.
So far, everything is progressing as planned, with some areas advancing even faster than expected. The club has implemented sustainable building practices and innovative construction techniques to ensure the project stays on track.
However, the project won't be 100% complete until the summer of 2026. Once finished, Camp Nou will have an increased capacity of around 105,000 seats, making it the largest stadium in Europe.
