This is What Vitor Roque Thinks About Joining Betis
Brazilian forward Vitor Roque stated at his presentation as a Real Betis player that he didn’t hesitate "even twice to come here" and emphasized that, in addition to "needing a change" in his life, he was "delighted" with the Benito Villamarín stadium and the fans after his first match with Barcelona at that venue.
Accompanied by his family and his pet chihuahua wearing a Betis jersey, the Barcelona loanee expressed being "very happy with the reception" from "the entire board, the coach, Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, and the team," and hopes to "do well."
Vitor Roque, who was born 19 years ago in Timóteo (State of Minas Gerais), highlighted his excitement about joining Betis after going through "some complicated moments" during his initial months in Spain, as he didn’t have continuity with the Barcelona team.
"I wanted to come to Betis. I spoke with Joaquín (Sánchez), who spoke very highly of the club, its greatness, and its history. I am very happy to be here, and for my family, this is perfect. We are very comfortable," added the player known as 'Tigrinho,' who admitted he "didn’t imagine debuting at home with a goal," as he did on Friday against Leganés.
The young Brazilian forward explained that, upon scoring, he was "crazy and happy about the three points," and added, "We needed that victory, and I needed that goal to gain confidence."
"Thank God, I managed to score, and now my goal is to surpass fifteen goals this season," concluded Vitor Roque.
