Rodrygo and Lucas Vázquez: How Long Will They Be Out?
Real Madrid has announced the medical reports for both players injured in the match against Osasuna, and the news isn’t good.
Medical tests conducted on Brazilian Rodrygo Goes and Lucas Vázquez on Monday morning at Real Madrid's training facility confirmed that both players sustained muscle injuries: Rodrygo in the rectus femoris and Lucas in the adductor longus.
Rodrygo and Lucas were injured in a difficult first half of Real Madrid's match against Osasuna, during which Brazilian Éder Militao also suffered a severe knee injury that will keep him sidelined for the entire season.
According to sources at the club, Rodrygo is expected to be out for five to six weeks. His medical report specifies "an injury to the rectus femoris of the left leg."
As for Lucas Vázquez, his injury leaves Carlo Ancelotti without a right-back for a month. With Dani Carvajal already out for the season due to a severe knee injury, Lucas’s muscle tear in the "left adductor longus" deepens the squad’s challenge in defense.
If recovery times proceed as anticipated, Real Madrid will have to face a crucial Champions League match against leaders Liverpool on November 27 at Anfield without any available right-backs. This shortage will also impact upcoming La Liga games against Leganés, Getafe, and possibly Athletic Club on December 4, should the matchday 19 fixture be moved forward.
