Mbappé Returns to Paris
The Real Madrid forward headed to the French capital to unwind during his days off, where he played paddle tennis with former teammates like Achraf.
Kylian Mbappé is experiencing an unusual week. Instead of joining the French national team at their training base in Clairefontaine for Thursday’s match against Israel, the Real Madrid forward has taken advantage of a two-day break granted by his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, to return to Paris for some time with family and friends.
Spotted on the padel courts in Paris with former PSG teammate Arnau Tenas and his close friend Achraf Hakimi, Mbappé was visibly enjoying his downtime. He even shared a few social media posts, commenting, "Padel and friends, the perfect mix. Blue team." Joining them was Marcos Casares, a player from Ciudad de Getafe Football School, rounding out the group on the courts.
In addition to some padel, Mbappé spent time relaxing at Achraf's house, where they played video games together. These few days off have provided the Real Madrid star with an opportunity to unwind after the surprise omission from France’s squad, a decision that caught him off guard. However, the French team’s veteran players, like Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano, have voiced support for their captain. "We miss seeing a bit more recognition for Kylian," said Upamecano during a press conference at Clairefontaine.
Now back in Madrid, Mbappé is resuming training, albeit with a reduced squad due to injuries and international call-ups. He aims to shake off a recent scoring slump, having gone four consecutive games without a goal. With his next opportunity not until Real Madrid faces Leganés on November 24, Mbappé is focused on regaining his scoring touch and preparing to make a strong comeback.
