Lewandowski Clears Up His Future for Next Season
Robert Lewandowski clears up his future and admits he’s got plenty left in the tank.
After a "bad" season for Barcelona where they were outperformed in La Liga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey, among others, Polish player Robert Lewandowski's name has popped up on the list of possible departures from the club for the next season. However, he’s clear about his future and affirmed that he’s eager to keep competing.
Before talking about his future, the Polish player gave a self-assessment to Mundo Deportivo about the team's season. "This season we aimed for better than second place. I'm sure we could have done more, but now I have a feeling, which is also within the locker room, that we want to start preparing for the next season. We know we have great potential in the team, with very good players, and we can win more matches and titles next season," said Lewandowski.
Lewandowski then clarified his intentions to Mundo Deportivo regarding his future, saying, "I want to win more titles with Barça," putting to rest any rumors about his potential departure from the Spanish club next season.
The self-criticism continued, and the striker also spoke about Barcelona's performance in the Champions League. "When I think about the Champions League, I only think about one match, the return leg against PSG. It’s still hard to digest, but thinking about the future, it could be very important," he mentioned.
He wrapped up his comments by sharing how he currently feels with Xavi Hernández's team. "I could have scored more goals too, and I want to win more titles with Barça. I carry this club in my heart," he concluded.
