Lamine Yamal: September MVP
FC Barcelona’s young talent, Lamine Yamal, has been named LaLiga’s MVP for the month of September, solidifying his impressive start to the season. At just 17 years old, the forward continues to achieve milestones, standing out as one of the most promising players in the competition.
In September, Yamal played in four LaLiga matches, where his team secured three wins and suffered one loss. The forward scored three goals, including a crucial brace against Girona and a stunning goal against Osasuna. Although the latter wasn't enough to prevent the loss, his performance cemented his role as one of the team's most influential players.
The youngster started in three matches (against Girona, Villarreal, and Getafe) and came on as a substitute in the game against Osasuna due to rotations made by Hansi Flick. Despite not starting, Yamal made his mark by scoring the 4-2 goal in the final minutes. Shortly after, he was involved in a controversial moment when he was brought down in the box, though the referee didn’t award a penalty. To cap off his performance, he assisted Ferran Torres, whose header hit the post.
Additionally, Lamine Yamal has been called up by Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente, for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, where Spain will face Denmark on October 12 in Murcia and Serbia on October 15 in Córdoba.
