Lamine Yamal on This Barcelona Team: "We're Ready for Anything"
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal shared his thoughts on Saturday's 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu, combined with Wednesday's 4-1 Champions League triumph over Bayern Munich, noting that these wins showcase Barcelona’s readiness to face any challenge.
"When we were winning in La Liga, people said it was against mid-table teams and that the real test would come in key moments. Well, Madrid is one of the best teams in the world, and we beat them 4-0. Both against Bayern and Madrid, we've shown that we’re ready for anything," Yamal declared.
From the mixed zone at the Santiago Bernabéu, Yamal mentioned that Barcelona approached the match "with a lot of confidence," and once they scored the second goal, their focus was on "scoring as many goals as possible." He added, "It’s amazing when you hear your fans louder than the rival’s in their own stadium."
Although he acknowledged that "a win in a Clásico is very important," Yamal emphasized that "it's just three points," and that the team must now "stay focused and think about the upcoming match against Espanyol" next weekend at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
When asked about his confidence, the young forward shared that he had told teammate Alejandro Balde, "I’m scoring today, no matter what, since it’s been a few games without a goal." Yamal noted that he aims to "enjoy the game," especially because "when the team is performing well, you’re just one of many who are thriving."
