Lamine Yamal is back with Barcelona: He's Not the Only One
Barcelona's prodigy rejoined the team's preseason after three weeks of vacation. Pedri and Ferran Torres also returned alongside him.
Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Pedro González 'Pedri', champions of the European Championship with Spain on July 14, returned to training at the Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this Monday after three weeks of vacation.
The Barça players rejoined the preseason, undergoing the necessary medical examinations and training in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona) alongside some of the injured squad members, while awaiting the return of their teammates from vacation or the tour in the United States.
Lamine and Ferran returned from Germany without any physical issues, unlike Pedri, who is still recovering from an internal lateral sprain in his left knee sustained during the Euro quarterfinals against Germany.
The Canarian midfielder began a specific recovery plan in Tenerife, which will now continue in Barcelona, aiming to be available for Hansi Flick for the league opener against Valencia on August 17 at Mestalla.
In addition to Pedri's injury, the Catalan team is also currently dealing with the absences of Pablo Páez Gavira 'Gavi', Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo, and Ansu Fati.
The next to return will be Eric García, Pau Cubarsí, and Fermín López, who have reached the semifinals of the Paris Olympics with Spain. Fermín, who has already scored three goals in the competition, will join after also participating in the European Championship, albeit in a more secondary role.
After defeating Manchester City (on penalties after a 2-2 draw) and Real Madrid (2-1), Barça will face Milan this Wednesday in their last American fixture before returning to Barcelona the same day.
Before the competitions begin, Flick's men will contest the Joan Gamper Trophy against Monaco next Monday, five days before the league opener against Valencia.
