Lamine Yamal: 'I Would Never Play for Real Madrid'
The young Spanish national team player gave an interview where he stated that he would never play for Real Madrid.
Lamine Yamal is currently a key player for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team. During Euro 2024 in Germany, he has been performing exceptionally well, showing that he has what it takes to be a starter on any team. Although he hasn't scored any goals in the competition, he has taken 11 shots and provided two assists.
While Yamal is with the Spanish team, preparing for the Quarterfinal match against Germany, he gave an interview to "El Chiringuito." He was asked various questions about his future and how much of a Barcelona fan he is on a scale of 1 to 10. He confidently answered, "a 10," and stated that he would never play for Real Madrid because he has become such a devoted Barcelona fan.
During the interview, he was asked if he feels pressure when compared to Lionel Messi. Yamal replied, "People naturally make those comparisons, but no one can be compared to him. I try to play my game without any pressure." When asked about his idol, the 16-year-old player responded, "I've always said Messi is the best in history, but the player I enjoyed watching was Neymar."
He also mentioned that being a top 3 player in the world and competing for the Ballon d'Or is an honor every footballer dreams of. For now, he is focused on giving his all for the Spanish national team and establishing himself in Barcelona's first team.
