João Félix Suffers Injury, Forced to Sit Out for FC Barcelona
More bad news for Xavi Hernandez's team, as after a couple of painful defeats against Athletic and Villarreal, Barcelona announced in a press release on Tuesday that Portuguese player João Félix will be sidelined due to an injury.
This Tuesday, through a press release on their social media, FC Barcelona announced João Félix as a last-minute absence for the match against Osasuna scheduled for Wednesday, January 31. The statement came after Xavi's morning press conference, where he didn't comment on João Félix's significant absence.
Xavi: "It is legitimate and natural that (Márquez) is preparing to coach Barcelona one day"
The statement reads: "In this morning's training session, first-team player João Félix suffered a sprain in the lateral ligament of his right ankle. He is unavailable, and his recovery will determine his availability."
With this, Félix joins Barcelona's list of injured players, which already included Andreas Christensen, Iñigo Martínez, and Marc-André Ter Stegen.

On the other hand, after learning about the severity of the injury and the estimated recovery time, it is believed that the Portuguese forward could be out of action for at least a month, consequently missing the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Napoli.
