James Rodríguez's goal with Rayo Vallecano is to be in the Top 6!
Colombian James Rodríguez, the recent signing for Rayo Vallecano, stated that the Madrid-based team's goal is to "be among the top six" in LaLiga and win the Copa del Rey because the team "has the talent" to achieve it.
The Colombian midfielder emphasized that his personal objectives are focused on playing well and helping his teammates win.
"My goals are to play well, help my teammates to play great football, and most importantly, to win and reach as far as possible. We need to think about the present, focus on each match. When you think this way, things work out and everything flows," expressed the midfielder in statements released this Friday by DIGI Talks.
The Colombian footballer, who debuted as a Rayo player in the home victory against Osasuna last Monday, highlighted his fondness for LaLiga and spoke about the importance of the fans.
"It's a crowd that pushes, that supports a lot. It will be very important because we need to be strong at home," indicated the 33-year-old player, who confessed that not playing in the 2022 Qatar World Cup was the hardest moment of his career and commented on the good moment of the Colombian national team.
"We are going through a good phase, at a good level. As a team, we are growing a lot, so we hope to keep doing things well in the upcoming matches and be able to be in the next World Cup, which is what we all want," he affirmed.
In the last international break, Colombia drew with Peru and subsequently defeated Argentina 2-1 with James Rodríguez playing a crucial role by scoring a goal and providing an assist.
