Jürgen Klopp's Response to Real Madrid Speculation
One of the names recently linked with a potential future at Real Madrid is Jürgen Klopp, but according to several sources in England, the German coach is not expected to return to management anytime soon — if at all.
After ending his successful spell at Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, Klopp has stepped away from coaching. In early 2025, he took on a new role as Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group, overseeing the football strategy of clubs like RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and Bragantino.
Will Klopp Return to Coaching?
According to a report by The Telegraph, it is highly unlikely that Klopp will return to the sidelines before summer 2026 — and there is even speculation that he may not coach again at all. He is currently fully focused on his new advisory position within Red Bull’s global football structure.
This was further reinforced by his agent, Marc Kosicke, who dismissed rumors coming from Brazil about Klopp being unhappy in his new role.
“Jürgen is very happy with his new position,” Kosicke stated, making it clear that a return to coaching is not on the horizon.
Real Madrid Keeping an Eye on the Situation
Despite this, Real Madrid continues to monitor Klopp’s situation. Much depends on the future of Carlo Ancelotti, whose contract expires at the end of the current season. Should the Italian not remain at the helm, the club is expected to explore several options.
Another strong candidate is Xabi Alonso, current head coach of Bayer Leverkusen, who reportedly has the backing of the German club to negotiate should Real Madrid come calling.
For now, Klopp remains far from the Santiago Bernabéu dugout — but in football, things can change quickly, and the club is leaving no stone unturned in its search for a possible successor.
