Drama at Real Madrid with Camavinga: What Injury Does He Have and How Long will He Be Out?
Tests have revealed that Camavinga has suffered a complete tear of the tendon in his left adductor and will not be available for the remainder of the season
There’s never a quiet day in the Real Madrid medical room. Just this past Tuesday, both Kylian Mbappé and Ferland Mendy rejoined the squad, pushing to be fit for the Copa del Rey final… but Carlo Ancelotti received the devastating news that Eduardo Camavinga has suffered a complete tear in his left adductor tendon and won’t be able to feature in the final stretch of the season.

Dramatic night for Real Madrid in Getafe
With the focus on the Copa del Rey final against FC Barcelona next Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti made several rotations for the LaLiga match against Getafe… despite the crucial importance of the game following Barcelona’s win the previous day against Mallorca. Real Madrid’s bench was full of star players who are expected to be in the starting lineup for the Copa del Rey final. Among them were Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo Goes, Antonio Rüdiger, and Eduardo Camavinga.
However, David Alaba experienced some minor muscular discomfort during the first half… and Carlo Ancelotti had no choice but to substitute him. Normally, Rüdiger would’ve stepped in. However, the plan was to rest the German defender due to his heavy workload in recent months. Instead, Eduardo Camavinga came on but had to leave the field as the match neared its end. Real Madrid also had to finish the game with one man down, having already used all of their substitutions.
Camavinga’s injury changes Ancelotti’s plans
According to initial evaluations, Real Madrid issued the following medical report regarding Camavinga’s injury: “Following tests conducted today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a complete tear of the left adductor tendon. His recovery is pending evolution.” However, reports coming from Spain are not encouraging, suggesting that Camavinga could be sidelined for two to three months. As a result, he will also miss the Club World Cup.
This injury to Eduardo Camavinga, combined with that of David Alaba, completely disrupts the original plan Carlo Ancelotti had in mind for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona… where the versatile French player was rumored to be starting at left back. Now, however, Ancelotti must decide whether to risk further injury with Ferland Mendy… or go with Fran García.
