Does Carlo Ancelotti Regret Not Signing with Brazil? Here's What He Said
The Italian coach is facing some of his toughest moments as manager of Real Madrid. Would it have been better to accept Brazil’s offer? Here's his response.
Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, currently facing some of his toughest moments as manager of Real Madrid, stated that he has no regrets about turning down the offer to coach the Brazilian national team.
After heavy losses at the Santiago Bernabéu—0-4 to Barcelona in La Liga and 1-3 to Milan in the Champions League—Ancelotti has faced criticism. However, this has not changed his belief that staying with Real Madrid was the right choice.
Asked in a press conference whether he regretted rejecting the Brazil job, Ancelotti replied with a smile, saying, "It makes me laugh. Thank you for giving me the chance to laugh. It's not the time to laugh. It's a delicate moment, and we need to overcome it. It's time to act. I regret nothing, and I try to enjoy every day I spend in Valdebebas, and I will continue to do so. I will appreciate all my time here and what I will still spend here. I'm happy to be going through this tough time here because this is the best club in the world."
Feeling "strong"
Ancelotti feels “strong” despite the tough situation his team is currently experiencing, emphasizing that he enjoys being at Real Madrid. "It’s not just me who feels strong. Everyone is going through this tough time. We’re still a very united family, with clear ideas. We help each other. We have a lot of trust in the players. These are the kind of moments that always come in football. It’s an opportunity to overcome it and come out stronger in the future,” he said.
He also shared his personal outlook on the situation, "I enjoy every day, even in this difficult moment. Personally, there have been long nights, thinking about finding solutions and sharing thoughts… Now, the game is approaching, and we’ll see if the solution we’ve found can be proven on the pitch."
Despite the challenges, Ancelotti is optimistic about the future. "I see the future as a season that can be successful, and we’ll fight for every title. That’s how it’s going to be. In a month, we’ll have the chance to win a World Cup, we’ll compete in the League, even though we’re behind, and in the ‘Champions,’ even though we’ve lost two of four matches. As it always has been,” he concluded.
