Christensen's Jab at Xavi Discussing Flick
Andreas Christensen talks about Hansi Flick's arrival at Barcelona.
The Danish defender, currently with his national team preparing for Euro 2024 in Germany starting on June 14, spoke about Hansi Flick joining Barcelona and took a jab at Xavi Hernández's departure.
In his statements, Christensen mentioned that Flick's arrival would bring some "German discipline" to Barcelona, something he felt the team lacked as there was a sense of relaxation within the club.
"I only hear good things from people who have had Flick as a coach. It's probably going to be a bit different now. A bit of German discipline... I'm looking forward to it. That said, I haven't spoken to him yet," the defender said.
This remark takes a shot at Xavi's management, suggesting the team was too relaxed and that's why the expected results were not achieved.
He also confirmed that the board and management have been honest throughout the process. "From the outside, it might have seemed very chaotic, but the management has been quite honest with us, explaining the whole process to the players. Of course, it has been strange, but it hasn't been chaotic for the team because we've known our position from the start," Christensen concluded.
