Barcelona vs Atlético Madrid Could Be Played in MIAMI
LaLiga is looking to move the Matchday 18 clash between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, scheduled for December 21 or 22, to Miami, according to 'El País.'
This isn’t the first time the idea of hosting a LaLiga game outside of Spain has come up. Back in 2018, they tried to do the same with a Barcelona-Girona match, but it didn’t happen due to opposition from FIFA, UEFA, and the Spanish Football Federation, who would also need to approve this time for the game to be held in the U.S.
'Relevent,' a U.S.-based sports events company, is handling the negotiations to make the Barcelona-Atlético game happen in Miami. However, as of now, the plan to head to the U.S. isn’t fully in motion yet.
