Barcelona Doesn’t Give Up on Dani Olmo
The Blaugrana club held new talks with the player's representatives and is preparing a new offer to convince RB Leipzig.
Barcelona hasn’t thrown in the towel on Dani Olmo. After RB Leipzig rejected the Blaugrana club’s initial formal proposal for one of the stars of the Euro Cup, new developments have emerged.
According to Fabrizio Romano, new talks have been held this weekend between Barcelona and the player’s representatives.
Barcelona is now preparing a new offer to the German club after the initial proposal was rejected. According to Sport, the first bid was for $43.3 million fixed plus an additional $21.6 million in variables.
RB Leipzig rejected this offer, particularly due to the payment conditions. Barcelona wanted to pay $10.8 million per season starting in January 2025.
The German entity is looking for an amount exceeding $65 million or for the Blaugrana club to pay immediately, something that seems difficult given Barcelona’s ongoing financial struggles.
Awaiting Nico Williams
All this while Barcelona awaits Nico Williams' decision regarding his future. The Athletic Club Bilbao winger is the priority, but while he deliberates, the Blaugrana club is keeping the Dani Olmo operation active.
