Atlético Moves to Speed Up Conor Gallagher Deal
Atlético de Madrid could be very close to signing the English midfielder for 35 or 40 million.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish club is already in talks with Chelsea to finalize the signing of midfielder Conor Gallagher for around 35 to 40 million euros ($38.1 to $43.6 million), including add-ons.
Gallagher’s contract with the British club runs until 2025, which could make it easier for him to join the Spanish team, especially since Chelsea might be more willing to sell him to a non-Premier League team.
This would be a major signing for Atlético, as Gallagher is a promising 24-year-old with a lot of potential. He’s known for his physicality in midfield, one-on-one skills, and strong leadership on the field, even having captained the English team.
However, despite not being official yet, Atlético coach Diego Simeone is keen on signing Gallagher after his impressive performance in Euro 2024, where he helped England reach the final but fell 2-1 to Spain.
