Interestingly, Athletic has already started selling tickets for their home games for the 2024-2025 season. Prominently featured is the promotion for the final matchday of the season against Barcelona, showcasing an image of Nico Williams kissing the Athletic badge.
It's noteworthy that this is the only image of the young Spaniard used to promote Athletic's home games. Williams also appears in the season ticket promotions, smiling alongside the phrase, “Pay attention to the signs.”
Inside Athletic, there's confidence that Nico Williams will return to the team after his vacation and decide to stay for another season. They believe he has no intention of triggering his €58 million ($63.2 million) release clause. Club president Jon Uriarte has also expressed confidence in their ability to keep Williams.
“The club is capable of keeping players like Nico Williams economically, socially, and sportively within its structure,” he said.
However, nothing is official yet, and Williams' move to Barcelona or another European club is still possible. They are waiting for him to return from vacation to put together an offer that appeals to the young Spaniard.
