Vinicius Goes Off on Copa América Refereeing
Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior, who shone in the Copa América match against Paraguay (1-4) with two goals, blasted the referees and CONMEBOL, saying they're "always" against them.
"The Copa América is always tough because of the fields, the referees who are always against us, and how they treat us, but we have to stay strong," said the Real Madrid winger on the pitch at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
"We can only talk if we win; when we speak up, CONMEBOL (South American Football Confederation, organizers of the Copa América) says we talk too much," he added.
Regarding his brilliant performance against Paraguay (1-4), he emphasized that he "never plays for himself," but for the team and his country.
"I always try to do my best, even though it's not always possible. Today, I had a great game, at the level of the player I am," he said.
However, Vini noted that he's aware he "can improve a lot" more to help the team. "This team wants to put Brazil where it deserves to be," he concluded.
