Vinícius Apologizes: "This Time It's My Fault"
The Brazilian has come forward and published a message on Instagram after Brazil's elimination in the Copa América.
It's over. Brazil's dream of lifting the Copa America title came to an end as they lost in a penalty shootout to Uruguay. Vinícius didn't play due to a suspension for accumulating yellow cards, which really upset Brazilian fans.
In response, the Real Madrid player posted a message on his social media, apologizing to the Brazilian fans and admitting he made a mistake by getting an unnecessary suspension.
“The Copa America is over, and it's time to reflect and learn to deal with defeat. The feeling of frustration arises again. Once more, in the penalty shootout. I made a mistake by receiving two avoidable yellow cards. I watched the elimination from the sidelines again, but this time it’s my fault. I apologize for that. I hear the criticism, and trust me, the harshest ones come from within,” wrote the forward.
He also stated that this is just the beginning of his journey with the Brazilian national team, and he is confident that he will help lead the team back to the top. “My journey with the national team, fortunately, has just begun. Along with my teammates, I will have the opportunity to bring our team back to where it belongs. WE WILL RETURN TO THE TOP! I LOVE YOU AND WE ARE TOGETHER!” Vinícius concluded.
