Thousands of Fans Could Be Deported for Sneaking into Copa América Final
7,000 fans were identified by biometric cameras and face severe penalties, including the loss of their visa.
The Copa América final between Argentina and Colombia was marred from the start as nearly 8,000 fans managed to enter Hard Rock Stadium without tickets.
These incidents endangered the thousands of attendees and highlighted a security issue at such a large event.
It has now been revealed that more than 7,000 of the fans who illegally entered the stadium have been identified through the biometric cameras both inside and outside the venue.
The identified fans now face severe consequences. They could face criminal charges leading to hefty fines or even imprisonment.
Depending on the severity determined by U.S. authorities, some fans could have their resident visas revoked. In the most extreme cases, they might be deported from the country.
