James Rodríguez: Possible Return to La Liga?
James Rodríguez catches the interest of Celta de Vigo, opening up a possible return to La Liga for the Colombian.
After joining the Colombian squad for the 2024 Copa América, James Rodríguez arrived from Brazil to Colombia with some surprising news: Celta de Vigo has shown interest in bringing the São Paulo player back to Spain.
It's worth mentioning that his time at São Paulo has been quite underwhelming, as he has only participated in 22 matches over 10 months, mostly as a substitute, accumulating just 1,000 minutes of playtime.
On the other hand, James Rodríguez remains an important figure for the Colombian national team. Despite his lackluster performance with the Brazilian club, Néstor Lorenzo has called him up for the Copa América, considering that he played in eight matches for the national team over the past year, amassing a total of 500 minutes and scoring one goal.
Regarding a potential departure from São Paulo, club president Julio Casares stated: "We don't have any official offers, but I always say that the transfer market is a time for analyzing arrivals and departures. And James' departure, if it happens, needs to be good for both the player and, most importantly, for the club. Once the Copa América is over, we will handle everything with dedication and caution to ensure a happy ending," Casares said.
