Stunning Last-Minute Equalizer from Medellín Against Palestino
Palestino drew 2-2 with Independiente Medellín at home in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the 2024 Copa Conmebol Sudamericana, with an excellent performance from both teams.
In the first half, Independiente Medellín surprised Palestino with a goal from Joaquín Varela in the 41st minute, taking the lead at halftime despite Palestino’s constant efforts to take control of the match.
In the second half, Palestino stepped up their game and managed to turn the score around with two exceptional plays. Iván Román equalized the match in the 48th minute, and Nicolás Linares scored what seemed to be the winning goal with an impressive shot in the 50th minute. However, Joaquín Varela made a comeback by scoring the equalizer in the 93rd minute.
With this result, Palestino will head to Colombia with no advantage, and both teams will look to secure their place in the next stage of the Copa Conmebol Sudamericana in the return leg against Medellín.
