Boca thrashed Nacional de Potosí 4-0 in front of their home crowd at La Bombonera in the final matchday of Group D of the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana. However, they finished second in the group behind leaders Fortaleza and will now play a "playoff" against a third-placed team from the Libertadores.

Goals from Kevin Zenón, Edinson Cavani, Marcelo Saracchi, and Marcos Rojo secured a solid victory for the Xeneize, but they ended up with 11 points, trailing Brazilian side Fortaleza, who accumulated 13 points after their 2-1 win over Sportivo Trinidense on Wednesday.

The Xeneize will now have to wait for their playoff opponent to be determined from the third-placed teams in the Copa Libertadores groups.
