Cruzeiro beat Universidad Católica at home in the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana with a 1-0 score, thanks to a goal from Rafa Silva in the 80th minute, giving the Brazilians all three points.

With this result, Cruzeiro snatched the top spot in Group B from Universidad Católica, qualifying for the Round of 16 with a total of 12 points. Meanwhile, the Ecuadorians go to the Round of 32, finishing second with 11 points.
