Independiente Medellín dominated Palestino with a resounding 4-0 victory, securing a 6-2 aggregate win in the Round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana. After a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Palestino's home, Medellín made sure to finish the job in style.

Playing at home, with the support of their fans and the pressure of being favorites, Independiente took control early, opening the scoring in the 29th minute thanks to an own goal by Iván Román. They doubled their lead just three minutes before halftime with a strike from Jaime Alvarado.

In the second half, the Colombian side continued their dominance, increasing their lead to 3-0 in the 66th minute with a well-taken penalty by Leyser Chaverra. To cap off the win, Baldomero Perlaza added a fourth, sealing the 4-0 rout.

With this decisive victory, Independiente Medellín advances to the Quarterfinals of the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana, where they will face Lanús.
