Corinthians Advances to Sudamericana Quarterfinals After Penalty Shootout Win Over Bragantino
Corinthians secured their spot in the Quarterfinals of the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana after beating Bragantino in a nail-biting penalty shootout, 5-4.
The first 90 minutes ended with Bragantino leading 2-1, after coming from behind when Corinthians took the lead in the 24th minute with a goal from Rodrigo Garro.
Bragantino leveled the score in the 73rd minute thanks to Eduardo Sasha, and just three minutes later, Luan Candido completed the comeback to force penalties, tying the aggregate at 2-2.
In the shootout, Corinthians came out on top 5-4, with Hugo Souza emerging as the hero by saving two penalties, sending Corinthians through to the Copa Sudamericana Quarterfinals.
