LDU Quito took advantage of their home field and defeated Always Ready 3-0, securing an advantage as they head to the challenging home of the Bolivians, the Municipal Stadium of El Alto. Goals were scored by Alex Arce, Ricardo Adé, and Jhojan Julio in this first leg of the Playoffs to the Round of 16 of the Copa Conmebol Sudamericana.

In the first half of the match, the Ecuadorians showed the strength of the tournament's reigning champion with excellent football and goals from Alex Arce in the 16th minute and Ricardo Adé in the 27th minute. In the second half, Always Ready could do little against the hosts, as they soon increased their lead in the match with a goal from Jhojan Julio in the 53rd minute.
