Bolívar secured their spot in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores  by defeating Palestino 3-1, finishing atop Group E with 13 points in the final matchday of the group stage.

Flamengo also advanced to the next phase of the tournament with 10 points, thanks to their 3-0 win over Millonarios.

Palestino ended the series with 7 points, which qualifies them for a playoff spot in the Copa Sudamericana round of 16, while Millonarios finished at the bottom with 3 points.

An own goal by José Bizama broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, and a brace from Brazilian Francisco da Costa in the 47th and 87th minutes sealed the match for the Bolivians. Chamorro scored a consolation goal in the 68th minute.

Bolívar ceded possession to Palestino, who needed a three-goal victory to advance to the next stage of the Libertadores.

The clearest chance for the Chilean team came from a free kick by Michael Fuentes, which goalkeeper Carlos Lampe tipped onto the post.

The response from the team led by Argentine coach Flavio Robatto also came from a long-range shot by Carmelo Algarañaz that hit the crossbar.

The visitors' efforts were undone when Bizama headed the ball into his own net, beating Rigamonti, who had previously made a near-impossible save.

Referee Andrés Merlos disallowed a Bolívar goal in the 39th minute after VAR review.

Bolívar scored their second goal just as the second half began, thanks to a shot from Da Costa that found the net after a rebound.

Palestino's momentum waned, and they handed control of the game to the Bolivian side.

Coach Pablo Sánchez made four substitutions to renew his team, and Palestino managed to pull one back through Chamorro, who had just entered the game.

In the dying moments of the match, Da Costa sealed the victory with a header into the top corner.

The last time Bolívar reached 13 points in the group stage of the Libertadores was in 1998.
