The WORLD'S HIGHEST Stadium to Host Copa Libertadores
The Municipal Stadium of El Alto is set to become the highest-altitude stadium in the world, as CONMEBOL has given approval for Bolivia's Always Ready to host Sporting Cristal at this venue during Phase 2 of the 2024 Copa Libertadores.
Situated at an elevation of 4,090 meters above sea level, this facility is recognized as the world's highest stadium for hosting top-tier football matches.
In this regard, the altitude at this location significantly surpasses that of La Paz stadiums, which range between 3,500 meters and 3,700 meters.
Always Ready will kick off the series against Sporting Cristal at home on February 20 before traveling to Peru to determine the team advancing to Phase 3 of the Libertadores.
