Bofo Bautista Calls Fernando Gago "Trash" Reminds Him of Goal Against Boca Juniors in Libertadores
After Fernando Gago's departure from Chivas was confirmed, various reactions have emerged from former players of the rojiblanco team, along with deep indignation among the fans. A clear example is Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista, a familiar face to Boca Juniors.
The former Guadalajara player, who, like the rojiblanco fans, identifies strongly with the club, harshly criticized the Argentine coach after his departure was confirmed, apparently to fulfill his desire to coach in Argentina, with Boca Juniors as a potential destination.
“You are trash as a coach. No principles or loyalty to your job. Mercenary, Fernando Gago, remind your new little team that you were with the best team in Mexico, because they can’t win playing soccer, only by playing dirty, mercenaries,” Bautista expressed on his personal Instagram account.
Along with his message, Bautista shared a video of the match between Chivas and Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores, where the Mexican scored one of the four goals that secured a victory for Chivas at Estadio Jalisco.
That match is also remembered for the controversy in the second leg, which ended 0-0, when Bautista had an altercation with Martín Palermo and was spat on by “Chino” Benítez. Chivas advanced to the semifinals, where they were eliminated by Paranaense.
