River Plate celebrated with their fans and the entire Monumental stadium after finishing their match against Colo Colo, securing yet another semifinal spot in the Copa Libertadores under Marcelo Gallardo’s leadership, thanks to a brilliant goal by Facundo Colidio.

River Plate won the second leg of the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores Quarterfinals against Colo Colo with a 1-0 scoreline, taking the aggregate 2-1, thanks to Colidio’s goal.

The first half was totally dominated by the “Millonarios” at the Monumental. They used the atmosphere to their advantage, scoring the opener in the 16th minute when Facundo Colidio popped up in the box and tapped the ball into Colo Colo’s net, scoring what would be the only goal of the game.

In the second half, River Plate stuck to Gallardo’s tactical game plan, defending their lead while still pressing forward. They managed 10 shots in total, allowing just one shot on target, sealing their win. With this result, River Plate moves on to the Semifinals of the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, knocking out Colo Colo with a 2-1 aggregate. Now they’ll face the winner of the Mineiro vs Fluminense matchup.
