Zamalek clinched the CAF Confederation Cup title after a dramatic 1-0 win over RS Berkane in the second leg of the final, securing the trophy on aggregate. The Egyptian giants came into the second leg at the Cairo International Stadium trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Morocco a week ago.

But fueled by a passionate home crowd decked out in Zamalek's traditional white and red, they staged an exhilarating comeback to be crowned continental champions for the second time. Forward Ahmed Hamdi turned out to be the hero of the match, putting Zamalek ahead in the 23rd minute to level the aggregate score.

With the aggregate score tied, the second half turned into an intense defensive battle for the White Knights as Berkane launched wave after wave of attacks in search of a crucial away goal.

Berkane's frustrations boiled over at the end when defender Hamza El Moussaoui received a straight red card, leaving them with 10 men and forcing them to push even more players forward. But Zamalek's defense held firm under intense pressure in the final minutes to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory, sparking scenes of jubilant celebration.

This caps a remarkable resurgence for the Cairo club, which last won the title in the 2018/19 season, securing their second title in the competition.

For Berkane, meanwhile, their dream of a third Confederation Cup triumph in four years was painfully dashed after coming so close to glory once again on the road.
