Xabi Alonso is The Best Coach in The Bundesliga
The Spanish coach Xabi Alonso has been awarded the Best Coach of the Season in the Bundesliga by the German Footballers' Union (VDV) in recognition of his work at Bayer Leverkusen, with which he achieved the "double" last season.
According to the German club, the award ceremony took place on Wednesday at the pharmaceutical company's training ground.
The award, known as the "Silver Bench," was given after receiving 84.1% of the votes in a poll that included players from the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Bundesliga, and the regional leagues, as well as other VDV members.
In addition to the Basque coach, players Florian Wirtz (named Best Player), Granit Xhaka, Jonathan Tah, Alejandro Grimaldo, and Jeremie Frimpong were honored as members of the best XI of last season in the Bundesliga, which was won, for the first time in its history, by the team led by the Spanish coach.
