Vincent Kompany Delivers Bad News about Jamal Musiala
The Bayern Munich coach confirmed the worst predictions regarding the team's star player. He did not recover in time and will miss the match against Stuttgart.
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has confirmed that German midfielder Jamal Musiala will miss the match against Stuttgart scheduled for this Saturday at the Allianz Arena.
In the pre-match press conference, the Belgian revealed that the German star, who returned to training on his own this week after a hip injury that caused him to miss the international break with the national team, has not yet fully recovered from his physical issues. The same applies to French center-back Dayot Upamecano, although Kompany left Upamecano's availability in question.
Regarding Bayern's current streak of three matches without a win, Kompany acknowledged that they need to "do things better," but expressed "100% confidence" that their "path will be successful."
"I hope we can take the next step in the upcoming match. In the games against Aston Villa and Eintracht, we dominated. We had many more chances than our opponents. Of course, we need to be better and optimize, but I think it would be foolish to change everything just because the results haven’t been right," the coach asserted.
When asked about their opponent in the seventh round of the Bundesliga, Kompany noted that "Stuttgart has shown what they want to do," which is "what has brought them success" and "that’s why they finished second last season."
