Tuchel on Bayern Stay: "Anything Is Possible"
Bayern Munich coach announced his decision to leave the club months ago, but now opened the possibility of staying next season.
FC Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel appeared open on Friday to reconsidering his decision to leave the team at the end of the season after Austria national team coach Ralf Rangnick declined to join the Bavarians.
"The dissolution of the contract is agreed upon. That stands. But any contract can be dissolved by mutual agreement, as you can see. We have a valid contract and have agreed to lift it by mutual consent. Anything is always possible," he said at a press conference when asked about the matter.
Despite the numerous refusals the Bayern have received in their search for a coach, Tuchel said that for him, the role was "attractive enough."
"We have attractive tasks ahead of us. I am not concerned about Bayern's future," stated the still coach.
Additionally, he highlighted that the players do not wish to know the identity of their successor in the next week. "The players' interest lies in tomorrow's match and the Champions League match (against Real Madrid on Wednesday). These take priority," he noted.
The goal for the second leg of the semifinals with the Merengues next Wednesday is to "achieve the goal" of reaching the Champions League final, Tuchel stated.
