Thomas Müller Heats Up The Match Against Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern Munich player Thomas Müller has pointed out that the upcoming clash between his team and Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning Bundesliga champions, this Saturday at the Allianz Arena "will be exciting until the last minute."
In statements to the Bavarian club's media, the veteran forward, the player with the most appearances in the club's history, referred to Xabi Alonso's team’s ability to come back in matches that seem lost.
"Every time you play against Leverkusen right now, you face a really tough opponent. They know how to play football, they know how to suffer, they have mentality, they never give up. If Leverkusen needs another goal, they'll keep knocking on the door until someone opens it," he stated.
Müller praised that "both teams make Bundesliga hearts beat faster, they are in good form, and have scored many goals."
"The way we are playing football right now is fun. The goals are a consequence of our style of play. Dominating the game, dominating the opponent, that is something new again, and it feels good," he remarked on the level of play shown by Vincent Kompany's team at the start of the season.
Müller, who just a few weeks ago surpassed Sepp Maier to become the player with the most appearances in Bayern Munich’s history, has scored 3 goals in the 6 matches he has played this season, which will be his last under contract with the six-time European champions.
