Pavlovic Successfully Undergoes Surgery After Breaking His Collarbone
German international Aleksander Pavlovic has undergone surgery after fracturing his collarbone, which will keep him sidelined for several weeks, meaning he’ll miss Bayern Munich’s away game against Barcelona on Wednesday.
Pavlovic got injured on Saturday during Bayern’s 4-0 win over Stuttgart after a bad fall following an aerial duel. He was subbed off in the 7th minute and replaced by Portugal’s Joao Palhinha. Pavlovic is a regular starter for Bayern, usually pairing up with Joshua Kimmich in midfield.
“Thanks so much for all the messages. The surgery went well. Now I’ll do everything I can to get back on the pitch as soon as possible. I’ll come back stronger,” Pavlovic posted on his Instagram.
Bayern’s coach, Belgian Vincent Kompany, admitted it was a big blow, saying Pavlovic was one of Bayern’s most in-form players. While the exact recovery time hasn’t been confirmed, it's estimated he’ll be out for about six weeks.
