Bayern Player Suffers Meniscus Tear
Bayern Munich will be without French right-back Sacha Boey, who suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee during Sunday’s training session.
In the statement issued by the Bavarian club, it was confirmed that the player was immediately operated on and will be "out for several weeks." This will rule him out of the Champions League clash at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys against Barcelona on October 23.
Signed from Galatasaray last January, the French full-back, who had seen limited playing time under former coach Thomas Tuchel, had featured in the early part of the season and was a starter in their recent 6-1 victory over Holstein Kiel.
The change in position of Joshua Kimmich, whom coach Vincent Kompany had moved back into midfield, had given Boey more opportunities at the start of the campaign, with some solid performances.
However, his progress will now be halted by an injury that could sideline him for up to two months.
