Bayern Munich Celebrates Tuchel’s Appointment: Set to Save Millions
At Bayern Munich, they must be more than pleased with England's recent hiring of their former coach. They're saving a significant amount of money.
Bayern Munich will save approximately $5.3 million (5 million euros) from the contract that remained with Thomas Tuchel, who has now been appointed as the new head coach of England’s national football team.
According to reports from German media, Tuchel, who had one year left on his Bayern contract with an annual salary of $10.6 million (10 million euros), will only receive half of that amount. This is because he will take charge of the Three Lions starting in January, halfway through the football season.
This arrangement follows a similar strategy Bayern employed with Tuchel’s predecessor, Julian Nagelsmann. When Nagelsmann left Bayern to manage the German national team, he forfeited a significant portion of his contract to take on his new role.
In Nagelsmann's case, his dismissal from Bayern came with over three years left on his contract, representing a far larger financial obligation than what Tuchel will leave behind.
