Bayern Doesn't Rule Out Renewal of Canadian Alphonso Davies
The Canadian footballer is being courted by Real Madrid, but Bayern's intention is to keep him in their squad.
Bayern Munich's technical secretary, Christoph Freund, didn't rule out a renewal for Canadian full-back Alphonso Davies, who's sought after by Real Madrid, and said there are talks with the player's representatives.
"There are talks going well and being very open. We'll see what comes out of them in the next few weeks. A contract renewal isn't unlikely," Freund said in comments quoted by German media.
According to Sky, concrete negotiations will happen in the coming days. There are differences between the two sides on the salary, with Davies reportedly asking for around $22 million dollars annually, while Bayern offers between $12 and $14 million.
"Phoenzie is comfortable in Munich and at Bayern. I don't have any negative feelings at all," Freund assured.
Davies is under contract with Bayern until 2025, so if he renews, and the German club doesn't want to let him go for free, there would need to be a sale at the end of this season.
