Zidane Misses the Sidelines After Three Years Without Coaching
The French coach stated that he would like to return to the club routine, but the perfect project has yet to appear.
It is a confession that says a lot about his state of mind. Upon leaving Real Madrid in 2021, Zinédine Zidane never would have imagined that, three years later, he would still be waiting for his new challenge.
It's true that the French football legend had his sights set on the French national team, but well-secured in his position as head coach, Didier Deschamps has postponed the ambitions of his former teammate in Les Bleus. With that door closed, Zinédine Zidane continues to seek a challenge worthy of a three-time Champions League winner (2016, 2017, and 2018).
In an interview with Carré, the Marseille native admitted that he is eager to return. "Sometimes I miss the routine, although the routine of a coach is intense. I took a break that has turned into a long break, but sometimes, I miss it," he acknowledges.
An option at Manchester United?
At 51 years old, he aspires to return to the game. This summer? Nothing is less certain. In fact, his name was mentioned to succeed Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, but he did not wish to advance further in the process.
Although he could have considered taking the bench at Juventus, the Bianconeri management did not consider him, only eyeing Thiago Motta.
The Manchester United option could exist if the Red Devils decided to part ways with Erik Ten Hag, although there are no rumors linking him, unless Zidane continues to show patience while waiting for the perfect project. Since becoming a coach in 2013, the former playmaker has only managed Real Madrid.
