Vinícius's Reaction to the New Sentence Against a Fan Who Insulted Him
The Court of Instruction Number 3 in Palma has imposed a one-year prison sentence and a three-year ban from accessing stadiums on the individual responsible for the racist incidents against Vinícius Junior and Samu Chukwueze that occurred at Son Moix.
The incidents took place on February 5, 2023, during a LaLiga EA Sports match between RCD Mallorca and Real Madrid, and on February 18 of the same year, in another game at Estadio Mallorca Son Moix between the local team and Villarreal.
Both complaints, initiated and promoted by LaLiga, have been resolved with convictions for Crimes Against Moral Integrity, with the aggravating factor of discrimination based on racism and also applying the mitigating factor of remorse.
Each incident resulted in a sentence of six months in prison and an 18-month prohibition from entering stadiums hosting LaLiga and/or Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) matches, with both sentences combined.
In another case of racist incidents, directed at Aurélien Tchouaméni, a settlement was reached for the minor who insulted and threw water bottles at the Real Madrid player on April 13. The minor has committed to apologizing to the player, Real Madrid, and LaLiga, and to undertaking specific socio-educational activities proposed by the Juvenile Section of the Palma Provincial Prosecutor's Office.
Additionally, the minor will have to pay 4,000 euros for racist insults and 3,001 euros for throwing objects onto the field, and will be barred from entering LaLiga and RFEF stadiums for one calendar year.
Following the announcement of the ruling, the Real Madrid player reacted on his social media with two emojis expressing gratitude.
