United States' 26-Man Squad to Make History in Copa América
With an average age of 25 years and 230 days, the United States men's national soccer team will approach the Copa América with its second-youngest squad ever for this tournament.
Head coach Gregg Berhalter announced the official roster on Friday for the Copa América, which kicks off on June 20. The 26-man squad is led by captain Christian Pulisic.
The only younger US team in Copa América history was in 2007, with an average age of 24 years and 280 days.
Placed in Group C alongside Uruguay, Panama, and Bolivia, the US team features players from eleven different leagues. The English league, with eight players, is the most represented.
Pulisic, a Champions League winner with Chelsea and current Milan player, will lead a team that also includes Weston McKennie (Juventus), Tim Weah (Juventus), Yunus Musah (Milan), Ricardo Pepi (PSV), and Folarin Balogun (Monaco).
