This Referee Will Officiate the Final Between Real Madrid and Atalanta
Swiss referee Sandro Schärer, 26 years old and an international official since 2015, will be in charge of officiating the UEFA Super Cup final between Real Madrid and Italian club Atalanta this Wednesday at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
Schärer will be assisted on the sidelines by fellow Swiss officials Stéphane De Almeida and Jonas Erni, with Ukrainian Mykola Balakin serving as the fourth official and German Bastian Dankert in charge of VAR.
This will be the second time the Swiss referee officiates a Real Madrid match. The first was in the opening round of the group stage of the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League, where Madrid secured a 3-0 victory in Glasgow against Celtic.
An international referee since 2015, Schärer has officiated a total of 86 UEFA matches in his career to date. He also participated in the recent European Championship in Germany, where he was the main referee for the Slovenia-Denmark and Georgia-Portugal group stage matches.
