This Player Was in Tears Over Ter Stegen's Injury
Marc-André Ter Stegen suffered one of the worst injuries a footballer can face, as the Barcelona goalkeeper has a complete rupture of the patellar tendon in his right leg, leaving him sidelined for the entire season. But how did this injury occur?
During a corner kick, Ter Stegen jumped to catch the ball with two hands. Yeremi Pino slightly pushed him in the air, causing him to lose his balance. When he fell onto his right leg, his knee couldn't withstand the force of the fall, resulting in a serious injury.
After the incident, Pino put his hands on his head, feeling guilty about Ter Stegen's injury.
"I was involved in the play; I didn't mean to hurt him intentionally. It was a combination of things, and I couldn't control my emotions, so I broke down in tears. I played for five minutes while crying," the player said.
How Long Will Ter Stegen Be Out?
Roberto Seijas, a traumatologist at the Cugat Institute, stated that Barcelona's goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen will be out for between eight months to a year due to the complete rupture of his right knee's patellar tendon, a condition he described as "very serious."
