Lionel Messi, Inter Miami, and the clubs participating in the upcoming Club World Cup in 2025 will have the chance to lift an exclusive piece, unique in its kind, and for the first time in the new format that the competition will debut.

This new trophy, whose design has already been revealed by FIFA, is a collaboration with the luxury jewelry company Tiffany & Co., and will be awarded for the first time at the tournament taking place from June 15 to July 13 next year.

The piece is covered in 24-carat gold and features laser-engraved details, including a world map, the names of 211 member associations, and FIFA’s six confederations.

Moreover, it includes engravings in 13 languages and Braille, symbolizing the inclusive spirit of the competition. This trophy also incorporates historic football iconography, with symbols representing stadiums and elements of the sport.

This innovative trophy, inspired by the famous golden records of NASA’s Voyager missions from the 1970s, the periodic table, astronomy, and pioneering travel maps, is intended to symbolize the future while honoring the past. The cup will also include celestial symbols representing the positions of the planets at two key moments: FIFA’s founding on May 21, 1904, in Paris, and the tournament’s opening match in Miami on June 15, 2025.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that this trophy for a 32-team format is “innovative, inclusive, revolutionary, and truly global.” He emphasized that the piece represents “prestige and timelessness,” being “a symbol of the future inspired by the past.” The cup will be publicly presented on December 5, 2024, during the tournament draw in Miami. This trophy, engraved with the message “To those who hold this trophy, history belongs to you!” seeks to immortalize the achievement of champions at the pinnacle of club football.

Anthony Ledru, President and CEO of Tiffany & Co., highlighted the company’s legacy in creating iconic sports trophies over 160 years. “This FIFA Club World Cup trophy is a new chapter in our long history of creating symbols of celebrated sports achievements worldwide,” he commented.

Tournament Venues and Format

FIFA has confirmed the tournament venues, with MetLife Stadium in New York as the venue for the grand final, while the opening match will take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Other venues include: Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta), Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte), TQL Stadium (Cincinnati), Rose Bowl (Pasadena), GEODIS Park (Nashville), Camping World Stadium (Orlando), Inter&Co Stadium (Orlando), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia), Lumen Field (Seattle), and Audi Field (Washington, D.C.).

The draw for the tournament's initial stage will be held on December 5 at 3:00 p.m. Argentina time. River Plate and Boca Juniors, Argentina’s representatives in the tournament, are eagerly awaiting their respective groups.

The format will include eight groups of four teams each, with each team facing the others in its group once. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16, continuing in the quest for the title in a knockout system.
